Open late May to late August. Tours take one hour and go a half mile underground. This mine is run by the students and faculty of the Colorado School of Mines who try out traditional mining techniques as well as the latest advances in technology. Please call ahead for tour. Fee.

Steve Canyon Statue Located at the intersection of Miner St. and Colorado Blvd. in Idaho Springs. Milt Caniff, creator of the comic strip, commissioned this statue and gave it to the town as a monument for Colorado servicemen.
